Gucci is a name brand known around the world for style and quality. Throughout its history, though, Gucci has seen it's fair share of turmoil and trouble behind the scenes. The high quality of goods that bear the Gucci name, though, has never faltered. Gucci has expanded and brought on new endeavors in various fields of fashion and other industries. The Paolo Gucci watch line is one such endeavor that has bought great revenue to the company. The Gucci company started in 1921 and was founded by Guccio Gucci.
It began as a small leather good store in Florence, Italy. It was from the beginning that the high standards and recognition for quality goods was built. Guccio Gucci hired only the best craftsmen to work for him and thus turned out only the highest quality goods. In 1938, the small store expanded and opened a boutique in Rome. The success of the company continued. In 1953 Guccio died, leaving the company to his children.
Aldo and Rodolfo proved to be the most influential and involved children. Aldo and Rodolfo came to own equal shares of the company and also opened store's in England, France and the United States. The international presence of the Gucci company was formed. Until the late 1970's Gucci remained at the top of its industry and continued seeing great gains. During the late 70's, though, family troubles began impacting the business.
The company almost ended up declaring bankruptcy. However, Rodolfo worked very hard to cure the issues and re-establish Gucci as a competitor and great standing business presence. Rodolfo passed away in 1983 and left his share of Gucci to his son Maurizio. Maurizio sought to bring the company back from financial disaster. He teemed up with Paolo, Aldo's son to accomplish this.
In the late 80's the company was brought back and became, once again, a strong fork in the industry. At this time Gucci was operating in various industries, including fashion and watches. It has continued to see success even today and is still a respected name. Family issues and internal company conflicts have not, however, completely vanished.
The Paolo Gucci watch line is the efforts of Paolo independent from the main Gucci brand. Paolo Gucci watches have their own logo and are Paolo's one works in the current world of Gucci. These watches are still recognized for the quality that has always been part of the Gucci name.
Despite the problems and turmoil that has haunted the Gucci company, it has always managed to stay a respected name brand. The many faucets of the company are made up of corporate works and those of family member, like Paolo. Gucci is a long lasting brand that will surely see many more years of being an influential company.
