In this day and age of augmentations, tucks, lifts, and Botox, it's no wonder that contact lenses still remain wildly popular options when it comes to eye sight correction. Add to the fact that there are many contact lenses in today's market that can actually serve to enhance eye color and the popularity of these lenses has grown by leaps and bounds. The fact is that even in light of the wild popularity of Lasik surgery, contact lenses still remain a popular and viable option to millions of people for vision correction over traditional eyeglasses. So what are some of the benefits of wearing contacts over eyeglasses? Glad you asked.
There are several that I can think of right off the top of my head. The number one reason being that you don't need a separate set of prescription lenses in order to protect your eyes from the sun. My eyes are very sensitive to light and I'm prone to getting light induced migraine headaches. For those who have never suffered one of these it is a powerful reminder of the need to bring your sunglasses with you on all occasions. Traditional eyeglasses offer little protection from the sun and even those with tinting are troublesome in their own rights.
The second reason that I personally prefer contact lenses to eyeglasses is the fact that I have really long lashes that tend to not only scratch the lenses of my eyeglasses but also to smear any mascara that I might like to wear all over the lenses. I have yet to find a pair that this doesn't happen with, which is why I tend to stick with cheap sunglasses and contact lenses. I don't have to pay nearly as much to replace these and they tend to be a bit more durable in my case.
I know many of you may not have that problem but I bet many of you have noticed how vulnerable your glasses are to other scratches. We tend to take better care of our contact lenses than our eyeglasses for some reason, perhaps because of their proximity to our actual eyes. The third reason that contact lenses are a great option and wildly popular is that there are many choices and options available. Today's contact lenses can be left in for up to a month, they can be disposable, they can change color from day to day to day, or even have bifocal lenses or special lenses developed to treat astigmatisms.
The final reason that I'm a contact lenses convert is the fact that I can order them and have them shipped to my door. I don't have to leave the house every month to pick them up. I don't have to stand in line and hope that my prescription is in and I don't have to worry about the price being different from month to month. Whether you have been wearing glasses your entire life and are currently considering contact lenses for the very first time or you are new to the need for corrective vision equipment and checking out your options, contact lenses offer a tremendous amount of versatility for which eyeglasses can never really hope to compete.
